Best restaurant in BR, I’ve ate here many times over the years and it never disappoints. Lots of great food and drink specials as well. Even if the name is changed, it will still always be Gypsy Nickel.
On a nice day in BR there's nowhere better than the deck of Gypsy Nickel. Bar is fun, food is okay, servers are nice. Sometimes the beer can be iffy so IPA snobs beware. Overall a top spot in town.
The food, the food alone is the best in town. The seating on the deck overlooking the river. Comfortable and homey. It Feels like eating on your own back deck with the river flowing by. The variety of food and drinks is all great too! I had the big noodle soup which was delicious and some crab Rangoon’s. 10/10 Don’t miss the wall or hot sauces either!
Nothing more to add that hasn't been said. Hot fresh foods that taste great. Amazing customer service and atmosphere! Definitely a must store if you are in big rapids or just driving through. If it isnt already, Gypsy Nickle should be on a michigan meal destination list somewhere.
What a delicious and ample Cobb salad at a great price overlooking the beautiful Muskegon River with tubers going by. While I was just a solo diner this day my server gave me the most attentive and friendly of service. Highly recommend!
Fabulous waitress/bartender but didn't catch her name. Worked Sept. 19, 2023. Very attentive and recommended an apple cider that tastes like Fall!! So good. Excellent sweet potato fries and we LOVE their salsa. And ...1st week of October Kennedy was working her but off behind the bar. She is an awesome worker!
This place is off the beaten path in Big Rapids, but well worth a visit. I especially like the southwest chicken wrap and the shrimp wrap. (I don't like cilantro, which they use in the picosauce on the shrimp, so I get it with the southwest sauce they use on the chicken wrap.)
Love getting drinks on the deck and enjoying the sun! Staff is always super attentive, friendly, and I’ve always received amazing service here!
